The Alberta Law Reform Institute (ALRI) is thrilled to welcome Debbie Klein to its Board of Directors.
Debbie Klein has worked in the delivery of free community-based legal services since 1990—at the Society for the Retired and Semi-Retired (now SAGE), at Credit Counselling Services of Alberta (now Money Mentors), and as the Executive Director of the Edmonton Community Legal Centre since 2008.
She grew up on a mixed farm in southeast Saskatchewan, and has lived in Edmonton since 1986, coming here to complete her BScHEc in Family and Consumer Studies at the U of A. Debbie’s previous board involvement was with the 4-H program in Saskatchewan, the Credit Association of Edmonton, and several choirs and churches.
Debbie brings to the ALRI board her relationships and associations with a large network of community leaders and agencies, and a familiarity with the experiences of lower income Albertans with the law and the justice system.
Debbie’s expertise and experience will undoubtedly play a vital role in ALRI’s upcoming high-impact law reform initiatives.
